What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is employment with training, so as an apprentice you will benefit from gaining recognised qualifications alongside gaining job specific skills.  As an apprentice you will be in employment earning a wage and working alongside experienced staff.  You will also get time (approximately 1 day per week) for study related to role supported by academic staff in our risual Academies and our industry qualified assessors who will visit you in your workplace.

Our apprenticeships are available from Level 3 through to degree level, so you can still become a graduate in an IT pathway whilst also gaining work experience, but with no debt and earning a wage!

An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non-routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity

Apprenticeship Overview

The purpose of this apprenticeship is to train IT Technical Salespeople to work effectively within a business environment.
The primary role of an IT Technical Salesperson is to sell a company’s technical products and services. They need a good knowledge and understanding of the portfolio of technologies that are available. They work to maintain good relationships with existing clients, gaining repeat business wherever possible from customers both internal and external, UK or internationally. They also approach potential customers with the aim of winning new business. They maintain a thorough understanding of existing technologies and those that are emerging.

Apprenticeship Overview

The purpose of this apprenticeship is to train Software Development Technicians to work effectively within a business environment.
The primary role of a Software Development Technician is to work as part of a software development team, to build simple software components (whether web, mobile or desktop applications) to be used by other members of the team as part of larger software development projects. They interpret simple design requirements for discrete components of the project under supervision. The approach will typically include implementing code, which other team members have developed, to produce the required component. The Software Development Technician is also involved in testing that the specific component meets its intended functionality.

The purpose of this apprenticeship is to train Digital Marketers to work effectively within a business environment.
The primary role of a digital marketer is to define, design, build and implement digital campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms to drive customer acquisition, customer engagement and customer retention. A digital marketer will typically be working as part of a team, in which they will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall marketing plan or campaign.

If you do not already have a GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and/or maths you may need to complete L2 Functional Skills in Literacy and/or Numeracy.  A subject specialist at the college and your assessor will support you through these qualification and will inform you and your employer of required attendance.

About the Course 

This Apprenticeship framework at Level 4 provides the skills and knowledge to become a professional in the field of Data Analytics (which includes Big Data). The framework covers jobs in areas such as:
